Jason from Easysharers has one Wag and loves it. It is very simular to the Z740 but with more bells and whistles!

What kind of price you getting on the z710? The reason I'm asking is that at list price the z612 is only $20 more, extends the zoom range to 12x and adds image stabilization. Downside - z612can't use AAs whereas the z710 will although alkalines are not recommended.

Remeber the O'Henry story where the man sold his gold watch to buy a mirror for his lady that loved to brush her long hair while she cut her hair and sold itto buy a gold chain for his gold watch.

You do have a 2nd pc to post your pictures:?

They are right Wag....The Z612 is a little better and does come with more bells and whistles.....If it is only a few bucks more it might be a better choice! Daughter has one and loves it.

W. Boo

I gave my girl friend my DX7440 but missed it for it pocketable size and having 4x optical so I wound up buying a z7440. I also like it for its ability to go wide to 35mm rather than 37. In the wide angle range every mm makes a difference. Slap on a Kodak aux. wide and you have a great 19mm lens.

Jus like Goldielocks and the 3 bears I found my z7440 with 10x optical nice but too big for my pocket. Tz7440 was great but I often wanted more than 4x. Thus I bought this Panasonic that is about the size of my z740 has a 10x optical zoom leica lens and image stabilazation. It is being phased out and I have seen it at Best Buy for I think $150. Has no eye piece, just a nice big lcd that grows on you.

Look out there is apin-head from the UK that turns blue if a camera other than Kodak is mentioned on this forum.

Dell Computers currently has the Z612 for $225. Personally I won't buy anything without an eye level finder be it optical, electronic or reflex. Having used IS for a few months I wouldn't buy anything with more than a 4x zoom without IS. Both are camera motion issues, you can hold the camera steadier up against your face as in both the Z612 and Z710 but IS give about a two stop advantage after that.
