Does the Z712 take 8gb SDHC cards?
Also how does it compare to the Canon S5 seems like the specs are very close and no one seems to review the Kodak.
According to Kodak the Z712 will take SDHC card. I haven't seen any reviews on the S5 either, just opinions. The concensus of opinions is the Canon took a very conservative approach upgrading the S3 to the S5 just as Kodak took a conservative approach upgrading the Z612 to the Z712. Just as the S3 and the Z612 were different but on a par I'd suspect the same might be true for the S5 and Z712.

Main reason I ask is not all cameras that take SDHC take 8gb cards. The Panasonic TZ3 takes 4gb SDHC cards but not 8gb cards. Just wondering if the Kodak did. Find it odd that the kodak didn't include a rechargable battery but at least they are cheap.

The apparent trend in the US market place and not just Kodak is that a rechargeble battery and charger are included only if there is no non-rechargeable option (as in the case with the Olympus Stylus series.) If there is a non-rechargeable option then the non-rechargeable is included.

By the same token no memory card is included if the camera has internal memory.

The SDHC information on the Z712 came from Ron Baird in this forum and he didn't mention any limitations but I can't find any other data.
