Have any of you noticed a long processing time in the P712. I recently purchased this camera after my DX7630 went out. I loved that camera! However, the p712 has lots of extra features. But I noticed such a long processing time after I take a shot. I even purchased a new extreme III card hoping that would make the processing faster. I, many times, miss the shot due to long processing. That never happened with the 7630. Any comments?

If your P712 is anything my Z712, yes, it does take a long time to finish writing to the card, especially if you've used the 'motor drive' simulator, or bracketing.

But this doesn't matter, as I find you can get on with the next shot as soon as you like, just by part-pressing the shutter release. The camera will keep on writing while you work & shoot, emptying one end of its big buffer to the card while you fill up the other end.

Good luck, Alan T
