Four feet over flood stage is a fairly major flood but our public works department constructed a sand bag levee and install pumps to keep the water out of most businesses. Because of their preparations this turned out, fortunately to be mostly a nuisance.

There were some cost figures in the paper today. The city spent$735K building the levee, manning the pumps and cleanup afterwords. Business costs were estimated at$510K, mostly interruption of business for the casino, the baseball teamand a few others.
