Default Kodak DX6490

I am new to this forum and am awaiting delivery of the DX6490 from DEll . Does anyone know if the camera accepts add on lenses or if Kodak plans to make a lens adapter available? By the way I still have my trusty old DC4800 which is still going strong and feel it will compliment the Dx6490 because of its wide angle lens. I am sorry that Kodak discontinued the control layout of the DC4800. The controls for aperture and ev are right on top and you don't have to access any menus. It is very easy to use and wish Kodak would have retained this feature.

The DX6490 does not accept any add on lenses at this time. It does not have any screw threads.

I purchased my fiancee the same camera, and shows it with a 2x teleconverter and a wide angle lens on it. There is no threads, but is held on the same way the lens cover is held on. Its a rubber grip that grips to the lens itself, or I tend to believe by the image.

Hi Russell,

That is cool regarding the potential for add on lenses. Where did you see it with the items you mentioned (picture, brouchure, web site, etc.). I don't have any need at present but I would love to take a look at it as a future option.

Thanks,

Thom

I remember seeing a flyer/insert in the camera box showing these add-on lenses. I haven't seen any available anywhere, yet, but Kodak seems slow to release stuff (e.g. extra battery).
