Hi everyone...newbie here :-)

My z612 took a little knock yesterday.....ever since then my pics using the zoom have been coming out like this...:sad:




however....

the zoom function on the video seems to be okay!

btw.....please be gentle with me .....i am a complete and utter amatuar :-)

Are your photos at wide-angle (no zoom) and medium telephoto (half zoom) as over exposed as this photo?

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"I suspect the aperture mechanism in the lens is damaged although the shutter speed should have been higher as the normal exposure program raises shutter speed before stopping down the lens.

Have you tried switching to aperture priority, shutter priority, or manual settings, and seeing whether (a) the shutter speed and aperture move correctly in step with each other as you adjust them with the thumbwheel, and (b) whether the resulting test shots look similar and then change as you adjust the EV correction setting in the viewfinder? This might indicate whether the basics are working properly.
