This really doesn't fit the various pictures catagories so I'll post these here. LST stands for Landing Ship, Tank. This ship took part in two of the WWII landings in Italy and the D-Day landing in France. She was saved from a scrap yard in Crete, Greece in 2000 a group of Navy verterans and sailed 6300 miles from Crete through the Mediterranean and across the Atlantic to Mobile, AL. Aft self-defense. The smallest cannnon shown in the this picture is the Oerlikon 20mm cannon below the larger turrets. The larger turrets contain Bofors single or twin 40mm canons. The red drums are depth charges (I think.)

This wouldn't be a problem in the Mississippi but points to the determination of those that brought it back across the ocean.
