After working on accounting and bill paying for several hours, I decided that I needed a break. Because I had charged the KLIC-5001 battery yesterday, I went into the "camera cave" where I store all my digicams and DSLR's and pulled out two relics, just for the fun of it.

My first choice was the Kodak DX-6490, the very first 10X camera that Kodak ever produced with a startling 4.0mp. I installed the charged battery and the 6490 powered up without any problems. So here is the photo from the Kodak 6490 taken today:

My second choice was the Kodak 7590, the successor to the Kodak 6490. It was Kodak's second ultrazoom camera with 5.0mp. I installed the charged battery and the Kodak7590 powered up, never missing a beat.So here is the photo from the Kodak 7590 taken today:

Both cameras have had a lot of hard use, but as soon as the charged battery was inserted, they powered up instantly. And no, because they are 4.0mp and 5.0mp cameras, there was no noise to deal with at all.

Thanks for letting me share some memories with you.

Sarah..even though I have higher MP cameras, I get as many smile while looking photos with my DX6490 as with any of my other cameras. The DX's are classics that just go on and on and on.

Hello Sarah :bye::bye::bye:

Don't look so far down on those 5mp cameras!

A 5mp camera in the right hands and in front of the right eye still delivers some super images!

I still have my Kodak Z7590 and Z730 (I gave my girl friend the model that the Z730 replaced because both have super optical view finders).

I now have a Panasonic TZ-1 5mp that has a super sharp Elmarit lens that runs circles around my girl friends TZ-5 and its Elmar. My Elmarit so much impressed her that she bought one (if you can find one it cost more than the TZ-5).

I just bought a Canon SD1100is (a 28mm would be nice but I love panoramas which does not require a too wide angle lens) plus I like the other bells and whistles that the Canon SD line has (panorama assist, time lapse, color accent and color swap).

Nice picture of "The Sun-Dawg Kid" and his "Dawgette"

Hi Bill-

As you can easy see from my post, my DX-6490 and DX-7590 are still 100% operative and taking great photos. Those were really great cameras.
