Default RAW for 6490

Would it be probable for that Kodak would release a fireware upgrade for the 6490 that might have less compression or possibly a RAW capture? I have heard of other manufactures doing this but didn't know if there may be some limitation in the camera to prevent it.

I doubt they will have a firmware update for the DX6490 in the near future. In my opinion, it doesn't need one...except perhaps a 2000x1500 (3.0MP) setting.

Even though the 4.0MP file sizes are small and anywhere from 400KB to 1.3MB I think 3.0MP is the best resolution. Just my hope.

Default Firmware Upgrade

It is still early. The 6490 is too new to have an upgrade yet. Kodak is still collecting user input. Among the things I'd like to see fixed:

1) Battery status indicator
2) Less jpeg compression
3) A closer match to what the Camera LCD shows and what the Printer Dock 6000 prints out.

Default koruvs you were right

You were right on. I wrote Kodak a while back and just got the reply back. They said the camera was too new and they weren't planning any firmware upgrade until they had time to see what the camera was doing.
