Default KODAK 4690 COMPRESSION, NOISE, AND ZOOM ????

Hello out there. I am trying to make a decision about buying the 4690 because of it's 10X zoom. With my SLR I am use to using ISO 800 film, maxing out the zoom, and blowing up my pics to at least 8x10. Between the extreme compression of the dx4690 camera and the nose factor in digital cameras...... AM I GOING TO BE DISSAPOINTED?
Is there a way to minimize the noise? How much affect does the so called "noise suppression" feature really have? ANY THOUGHTS ?????? THANKS!!!!!!!!

at this price range, 6490 is a great choice on both photo quality and noise reduction performance

People on the kodak forum print up to 11 x 14 with no problem with the DX6490,,,the compression if done correctly by the camera company is not a problem so it seems....Brian
