Default stability at 6490 max zoom?

Hello everyone,

I'm currently looking at both the 6490 and the Panasonic fz10. The one thing that has me thinking more of the Lumix is the image stabiliser. How does the 6490 do in that respect? i.e. how do max zoom pictures come out w/o a tripod?

TIA!

A tripod will help greatly however, if you have a fairly steady body position and hands 10x without a tripod is possible.

Here is a picture without a tripod at 10x below. I was standing straight with no bracing;

Using the nikon 5700 I had I took this free-hand 8x as well:

IS is nice but, not nessesary all the time.
