My DX 6490 lens cap broke, so I called Kodak to order a new one. They said they'd charge me $1.62 or so for the cap - much cheaper than I thought! But the total charge with shipping was to be $15. $13.38 to ship a piece of plastic?!? :?

I read another post where someone suggested measuring the lens - can I get a lens cap of a different brand? Or anyone know where I can buy a Kodak lens cap that won't cost an arm and a leg to ship?

For that shipping cost, Kodak better come deliver it to me personally!
Thanks,

Jenn

Jenn...

My lense cap for my DX6490 recently broke too,,,it was just a rubber grip inside the cover fell off,,,but it was going to affect whether the cap stayed put or not..

So I e-mailed Kodak,,,they requested my serial number, address, and verification of the receipt,,,i faxed this to them with a case # they provided,,,and they are doing this under warranty,,,

Do you still have warranty ?????,,,if not you can get a lense cap for it by measuring across the whole front of the lense,,,,,,,outside diameter,,,,and get a rubber push on one through any decent camera store,,,or E-bay.....

But if your`s is still under the year warranty time limit,,,Kodak will likely send you one too...

The shipping costs from Kodak is also for handling, warehouse charges, etc,,,this is usually the norm depending on your location..

Thanks Brian, I will try to contact them.

For now I stuck a piece of foam in where the rubber goes - seems to be working so far!
