I've got a DX3600 that I've had for several years now. The gears that extend the lens on power up are sticking and the lens is not extending.

I see that Kodak has a repair depot. Has anyone used it? Does anyone know what the pricing is on their repairs?

I have replaced the camera with the Fuji s7000 after debating for a long time between that or the 6490. I'm happy with my choice, since I got the s7000 cheaper than I could have gotten the 6490, but I think I would have been happy with either honestly.

Anyway, if anyone has experience with Kodak's repair depot, I'd love to hear about it.

Can't tell you what the repair costs are but if it's $150 or more I'd go with a newer camera. A lot has changed in the last 2 years - higher resolution, faster, usually better and always cheaper

I had an accident with my DX6490, and, they told me that all out-of-warranty repairs cost 160€ (taxes included)...

Seems they have that standard prize for all digicam rapairings...

Unless the DC is fairly current like Steve says,,,then it will likely not be worth the cost of the repairs,,,,

Repairing a camera,,digital or 35mm is very labour consuming work,,,,,and time=money in todays world,,,

I`d throw it and buy a used or new DC ,,,and cut your losses..

I had a feeling the repair cost would out pace the replacement cost. It just seems like a shame to toss it.
