Well..it is now June 9 and there is NO genuine Kodak 6940 adapter to be found for love or money. Everywhere is out of stock saying it's 4-6 weeks out. Any one found a genuine Kodak adapter in the past week or so?

Try....bhphotovideo.com If they dont have it in stock at this time, you can put your email address in and they will alert you when it is in stock. I did, and they alerted me 2 days later,,,ordered the adapter for the DX 6490 and the B & W 55mm Circular Polarizer on a Wednesday morning , it came to the house on Friday morning of the same week.(3 day UPS) Good Luck, and Happy Snapping!

I did that...I guess it's wait and see://

You can't even get it from Kodak.

Did you also buy the rubber lens hood?

Other than the CP filter, did you buy a UV or Skylight filter? How about a Neutral Density?

I hope this all fits in my cases. :?(see my other posts for images of my cases)

You don't have to buy the Kodak filters for this camera. I am getting superb results from some cheaper filters without worrying about the replacement cost.

I bought 10 second hand filters for the princely sum of £4 at a local fair, 5 of them were circular polarisers. (40p each=bargain)

I don't intend to buy Kodak unless they are cheaper.
I was looking at Quantaray (Sigma private label for Ritz Camera)

UV (Multi Coated)
Skylight 1A (Multi Coated)
Circular Polarizer
Neutral Density 2
Lens Hood
55mm Lens Cover
With Shipping: 67.98

http://www.ritzcamera.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/HelpView?storeId=10001&catalogId=10001&lan gId=-1&contentId=filterDemo

I also found the 6490 adapter at http://www.DataDrive4All.com.

I should have all this stuff within a week.

I'm a newbie to lenses and filters ,,so for now I just have the adapter and the Cir. Polarizer. I too will have to get a bigger bag , to carry all the goodies. Bought a small one, but at that time thats all I needed. Good Luck!

Get a UV or skylight filter (cheap)and leave it on the camera to protect the lens.

Don't forget the 55mm lens cap to hide it all.

I've got the one from Ebay, as it was available 2 months before the Kodak one.

My current set-up is theadapter with a 52>55mm step-up ring and a assortment of filters. (52 and 55mm)

Now the genuine adapter is available, just get that one, as it's a 44>55mm. (butyou need some patience in getting it, if you're not from the US)
