I deleted the photos Tom,,,,can`t keep them in photobucket forever,,it takes up valuable space,,....

And no i don`t use a voltage reg for the 144pc,,,,the 6490 is good up to 500 volts,,,,might not be a bad idea though if using the flash a lot though,,,i rarely use it..

Thanks Brian;

I'll certainly keep the Sunpak in mind when shopping. Question: can it take rechargeable batteries... and how long do batteries last?

To be honest Tom i just use alkaline batteries in my flash,,,but yes rechargeables will work with no problems,,,get decent ones though over 2000mah,,,,2300 last really long..

Can you please give me an idea of the type of voltage regulator too buy. Does a cord usually come with a Sunpak 144D. Thanks.

John,,i bought my flash unit off a fellow forumer here,,it came with the cord and bracket,,,so i have no idea if the cord comes with it or not,,,,but i do know they are easy to get at any decent camera store,,,and are cheap.....as for the voltage regulator,,,i do not use one,,,so you are on your own i guess,,,,,web search should give you an idea i`m sure....
