I am looking for a easy-to-use camera for a family member. It should produce good pictures at full automatic settings, and there is no need for a lot of manual settings (automatic will be used 99% of the time). It should also have fast focus and low shutter lag. 5MP is also at least needed, since the user often does a lot of cropingof the images. The former Epson PhotoPC 800 is now getting a little to old.

So after reading two reviews of the DX7630, it doesn't seem that bad. 6.1MP sounds a little scary to me on such a relatively cheap camera. The reason I choosed to look at Kodak was their reputation for easy-to-use handling.

But how is the quality on this? Or might there be other Kodak cameras which suits the needs better? The HP R707 is also a candidate.

Kodak is the easiest DC to use bar none.....

Kodak colors are awsum,,pic quality is excellent also...

But,,if you/they are planning to do any wildlife shots you may want to look at the DX6490 also,,it`s 4 meg but i crop it a lot and blow them up 8X10 with no problems..

You will find it hard to get some shots with only a 3X or 4X lense

Thanks for the reply!

3/4x lense is good enough for the planned use, it should be just a regular compact digital camera. 10x cameras tends to be a little too big.
