Here is a sample of the pictures (unretouched) I took tonight at the fireworks with my DX 6490.
All these were handheld (I forgot my tripod!!!) and the galleries have exposures from 1/15" to 8" and were taken in PASM with various settings.

I dug my heels into the sand, held my breath and squeezed the shutter release.

The entire gallery can be seen at:

Very nice pictures Michael.

8 seconds without a tripod, you must have stopped breathing to do that.

I'm impressed.

All the best - Paul.

Thanks for all the kind words.

I remembered to hold my breath as I got jostled by people milling around me. I was standing next to my wife on the beach. I could sense people looking at the 2.2 to see the pictures after they processed inside the camera.

Most were taken at 38mm...wide as I could get them. I may just have to get that 0.7 for next year!!
