well my 1st post here, so please be gentle, lol. i've got a dx-4330 thats quit turning on. tried old batteries (rechargeable), tried new batteries. don't use a camera dock. when i ran thru the kodak interactive troubleshooting guide the best i could get from them is an offer to fix the problem for $199 or trade it in on a refurbished 6490 for $129. should i just try a local shop or is the norm for digital cam repair a flat fee or offer of trade in? thanks in advance

Long long did you leave the battery out?

Sometimes if you leave them out overnight it sorts itself out.

(try this before Brian tells you to pull it apart)

HE,HE,HE,,,yup Paul`s right,,i`d tear it apart !!!!!

Honestly though,,if you can get the 6490 at that price traded in,,,then do it,,,you will definately never regret it,,it`s a great camera,,,and yes there is usually a flat fee involved with repairs,,,taking one apart is real time consuming,,which costs a lot in labour hours,,,i`d definately upgrade...

Trade it in then.

As Brian said, you will be more than happy with a DX6490, I am.

Sure, some people will knock it's abilities, but it's like people comparing a BMW to a Mercedes to a VW, some thing are better andsome are not so good, but things are always changing in this hi-tech world so just get it, use it and enjoy it.l

In 2 years time a Nikon D70 will be c**p.
