... You might want to buy a polarizer filter

Welcome to the forum.

Looking forward to seeing some more.

Don't worry about a polariser yet, when you get used to the camera, then you can start down the accessory path.

thanks guys for your replys.

i went on my trip today but the light was very poor.

and ended up with quite a bit of rain

i was hoping to capture some shots of a cruise ship which i thought was due to arrive today but i must have got my dates mixed up.

i could have zoomed in a lot more should i have used say portrait in stead of normal picture mode.

or would i need a wide lens to capture the entire image at closer range

im a begginer so be gentle.

best wishes.

The wide angle lens is great if you are close to the subject, but if you need to use some zoom the quality softens.

Landscape mode is always a safe bet, but it does include a lot of background as well.

Best to play with the settings when you are there, try all combinations and see what is best for you.

Good Luck.

Paul.

CX6230 and DX6490 with 0.7 w/a lens and a TCON-17.
