hi there,

is there any possible way of keeping the lens assembly outside while connected via USB and taking shots every X minutes?? any small 3rd party software?? hacks??

the purpose for this complicated thingammy is that i want to make some short movie of a flower opening.

There's no way that I know of to do what you ask. with these cameras.

Hi;

I'm with Terry here. Kodak did listen to digicam users when they designed this camera. Many people were complaining about battery life, so they built in some pretty effective power-saving features. They might have gone one step further and given the option to disable these features, but at this point the software doesn't allow for this.

Terry... are these features user-definable on the 7590? I wonder... what other things have been uptaded in this camera?

Hi Tom the 7590 does offer two video modes 640x480 or 320x240 with the smaller offering twice the amount of movie time.not sure if the 6490 offered that.

Not having played with that end of the 7590 yet per se, I don't do movies of any sort, just stills, then I am not sure, but I do not think so from my recollection of the menus.

i hope i can rig something up, in my machine shop to fit up the 6490, now that kodak's softwares doesnt do it. i'll post pictures of the thing when its done.
