I just got a kodak dx 6490 and when panning around in normal mode, the lcd will change from color to black and white and then back to color. I can switch it tothe electronic view finder and it has the same thing. Has anyone experienced this or is it normal? Its very strange I think and believe there is something wrong with it. Any help would be appreciated!!

It's normal.

The display gains up in low light so you can see what you are taking a shot of.

It's a great idea and much better than some other cameras that I've used.

Thanks for answering. I was worried for a while there whether it was normal. You like that feature huh?? seems wierd that it changes like that when panning around. Thanks again!!

It will change as you pan across a room from dark to light,,,,other DC`S will not go mono-chrome as the 6490 does,,,and the LCD and viewfinders are completely useless in low-light....if you ever had one without the gain-up,,,you`d see what we mean...i know the detail goes down badly in lowlight at the evf and LCD but at least you can frame your subject....
