I am seriously considering the DX7440 for my first digital camera. I had a Canon S1IS for a short period of time and returned it becaused I was not satisfied with imagequality.I boughtmy daughter the DX6440 a year ago andimage quality was good---better than the S1IS. Any words of wisdom?

Ireceived a DX7440 along with a 1GB Kingmax Platinum SD card for Christmas after spending several years shooting with 35mm SLRs and compacts. I'm very pleased with the results - wish I'd taken the digital plunge years ago.

Well what did you find wrong with the Canon`s pics,,,,,,,besides it has a lot of purple fringing and auto focus is a little hit and miss,,,this will help us tell you if the DX7440 has the same problems,,i know 1/2 dozen people or so that have the 7440,,and love them,,really fast focus and click to capture too..
