Hello all

I'm new to this forum and a new owner of the DX7590. This is a great place to come for information.I've got a few questions concerning the firmware upgrade. I've only seen two people comment about this upgrade so far. I'mwondering ifother 7590 owners out there have tried the upgrade or not? Is it a noticeable improvement? Are software upgrades normal for digital cameras or is Kodak simply correcting something it should have got right in the first place? The reason I'm asking is because I see no update for the 6490. Aren't the 6590 and the 7590 essentialy the same camera? Why an update for one and not the other? Just wondering.

Thanks

The firmware update does make a big differnce in low light auto focus. Kodak, as far as I have seen, is notorious for not doing firmware updates. Thankfully they felt that the 7590 was not performing as well as it should, and corrected a short comming.

The firmware update is v 1.01 which is downloadable from the Kodak site. I installed it via my SD card, BUT you must ensure that there are no files or folders on the card except a folder named 'system' in which you should copy the unzipped upgrade file.
Good Luck - it only takes a minute or so, once you've done the above.

Print the directions when you get thereso you get it right.

Easy to do, takes only a few mins. I did have to DL the firmware maybe seven times before it would get going.
