Thanks again Dave. I'll try to see if lowesies has it here if not I'll check McMaster Carr. They have about anything. Dan sometime I'll have to tell you about rebuilding a Triumph Engine on the dinning room table. The kids thought everything tasted funny months after, and the wife nearly blew HER head gasket!! LOL--

Well after much thought I decided to use what I already had on hand and made the cable end piece out of a 1/8" NPT brass pipe plug. Since I already had some dip coating on hand to make the eye cups ( shown in another post) I used it to coat the end with a soft rubber pad. Then I drilled and tapped for a #4-40 set screw.

I then drilled the pipe plug with a 1/16" drill and 1/8" deep. Like I said in the beginning, I wanted to make one that will fit any camera. Sort of a universal Bracket. So here is a shot of it mounted on my Granddaughter's little HP M307.

Here is the 6490 mounted to it. Pardon the fingerprints, my granddaughters like to point at what they see on the LCD.

This top view shows the offset that is required to get to the shutter button. I wanted to allow the base bracket to stay parallel with the camera in case latter on I install a flash bracket. Then if I mounted the flash bracket it would be parallel with the camera also. Probably doesn't matter but that was my thought at the time.

I've already rubber dip coated the base and will probably spray the other parts with a flat black paint to take some shine off. The cable works great. When you first push the cable in, it locks at the half shutter position every time, then if you push a little further it trips the shutter. No complaints and so far no problemo. Well by fer now.

A done Dawg

PS might get a right angle adapter later. PLEASE don't tell the wife
