My warranty has run out for my Kodak DX6430. I need a little help with a few things...

1) zoom button fell out and the shop wants to charge me $50 to replace the whole rear panel. Is there anyway around this? I find it mind boggling to spend $50 to replace the zoom button.

2) My power isn't holding even if I put fresh batteries in. It'll only hold for 5 minutes and power off.

Thank you.

Well you can either pay the 50 bucks,,,since the camera must be disassembled to fix it,,seems reasonably priced for a repair to me....

or the other option is drive over it with your car....and buy a new one
