Hi all,

I've had this camera for about 3 weeks now and I just noticed something kinda irritating. Unlike the 6490 that goes into powerdown mode after a short time of not being used, the 7590 shuts completely down after a few minutes, it's rather annoying if you have it on a tripod and trying to capture something. Does anybody know a work around?

Regards

Hi brian

yup, shuts clear off, can't find anywhere in the menu's where you can change it. I do not like this feature at all. Going into sleep mode like the 6490 would have been sufficient.

Regards

Mine doesn't do that. It works just like the 6490did (although I do wish you could change the amount of time).

Sounds like a battery problem.

Yeah this doesn`t sound right,,,,,i`m on a few forums with tons of 7590 owners and never heard of this before,,,should be the same as the 6490 and just go into sleep mode,,,,but i do know this though,,,,the 6490 will come out of sleep mode when you put your eye up to the EVF,,,,,i`m told the 7590 will not do this as they did away with that feature for some reason....you have to push the shutter down part way to wake the camera up,,,,can anyone verify this for me ??????????????

Thats right Brian...you have to push the shutter button to wake it up..

And YES it does shut off completely after a periodof time(i'm guessing 5 minutes of inactivity). It is very annoying.Since this is my first dc I didn't think much of it..just assumed they all did the same.

Wonderfull,,,,,now that`s not good,,,wonder why they changed that,,,,i leave mine on all the time,,,doesn`t affect the batteries i`ve found,,,i`ve gone into the woods for hours with it on and the 6490 never showed a low battery warning....i actually only saw the low batt icon on my 6490 in 14000 pics once,,,,lol,,,,i was wondering if it even worked.....

Guess moving up in the kodak game isn`t all good in some ways,,,,see no reason for that change,,,and also changing the wake up by using your eye to EVF was nice to,,,,,,hummmmmmmmmm
