While continuing my rsearch I found another camera to pick from. It is the Kodak Z740. I chose the fuji S5100 nut now I am unsure. They both have good reviews. Can anyone help me out here?

Thanks Will post in fuji forum also

I have owned both cameras.

I presently have the z740, which i am happy with.

I thought the S5500 / 5100 was a good general all rounder, it took good indoor shots, particularly of my own artwork - not many digicams do that sort of thingwell.

there was some purple fringing on some high contrast shots. The LCD at the back of the camera is small.

I would happily recommend the fuji, though overall, i am happier with my Z740, I have not tested it as fully as I did the Fuji, and it does give some punchier shots colour wise. I also think the lens may be better but i am just lay person - so don't take my word on that one.

If the two cameras were side by side and I was asked to pick one, i would take the Z740 - (but they are not miles appart)
