A few I shot the other day while waiting at the doctor's office. The distance is approx. 4-5 miles thus the haze even with a polorizing filter.

All these were hand held and not retouched. If you look below the saturn 5 and to the right you can see the space shuttle tail and some of the top. I was bored and had a camera. No other excuses.

Nice set of shots bigdawg! I'm thinking of gettingthe wide angle for my 6490...results like yours make it hard to resist getting one!

Thanks for sharing these!

I've not used it enough to judge it, so far TD. I bought it mainly for family gatherings and have had to work through the ones we've had so far. Most of the out side shots have been more panoramic in nature and I'm just not utilizing the Wide Angle lens properly for most of these. I need to put more thought and effort into my photo gathering than I have in the recent past. Too much on my mind and too much mundane happenings, like WORK. There I said it!! I got it out and nothing happened! Well,.. it did leave a bad taste!

That was for those who say I have no taste.

Mark, It does help push you back and get a wider view. I just don't use it enough yet to realize when it would be benificial. Also if your using a filter in between it and the camera you can get some vignetting on the widest shots.
Thanks for the comments guys It's what keeps me trying. That and the fact that if I don't use it the wife may make me lose it!! LOL
