I was rushed when takin these pics, mostly shot on auto, the first 2 pics of the Chaffinch`s I was eatin a meal, they came real close,

fork in 1 hand ,camera in the other ( nothin comes between a man and his prize winning Cumberland Sausage )

1st pic Male chaffinch

Female Chaffinch

Never met this chap before,he let me get really close

And I mean really close, macro was turned on for this one,he wasn`t bothered about me one bit.

last pic of the tarn, complete with wheel to open the dam, you can just make out the fly fisherman, guy near the left bank, guy on the right up to his chest nr the middle.

Had a good day... last pic taken with CX7530,,the others with DX6490

Beautifu!! And I mean beautiful shots TD. I also know what you mean about the sausage. I'm the same with a bottle of Icehouse beer!! LOL All kidding aside I've got a ways to go before I get that clear a shot of wildlife!! It's inspiring to see these.

Excellent shots, TD. Man, those colors really stand out. That 1st pic is my favorite. I'm surprised the bird in the 3rd pic let you get that close. What does Tarn mean...small lake?

Thats right Bob,there are lots of em in the Lake District, most if not all were formed by shifting glaciers in the last Iceage ( that`s Iceage Dawg,,not Icehouse :G).This one is manmade in the mid 1800s by an industrialist named James Garth Marshall.(I took a pic of a sign with all the info on it.:idea

That first little bird was about 2ft away and stayed on that handrail for a good 5mins,the birds are all around ,hoppin around your feet pickin up crumbs,I go to Skelwith Bridge quite often its a really nice part of the world,we pass the tarn on our way home ,but its the first time we stopped and had a walk around,I`m glad I did..

Thanks for the compliments Bob,BigDawg (Dawg ,I need to work on my portraits, you got yours nailed!!!)

Great shot of the Muscovy duck TD.
There's a couple at my local pond that I spend ages trying to get a decent shot of.

Still waiting.

TD, there is something about the shot of that Tarn that keeps drawing me back to it. I gotta get to your country some day. Could you post some more sometime?
