After some time the birds are finally using the feeder I put up. Here are a couple of goldfinches. The male is the bright yellow one and the female is the olive green one.

I like that 1st shot the best. How long before the finally started using the feeder?

Thanks Bob. They started using the feeder probably 1.5 - 2 weeks after I put it up. They have to contend with my dogs. My yellow lab likes to run out and try to chase them.

Nice pictures Steve,I also would like to know about squirre problems !!!

I have yet to put up a feeder that the squirrels haven't chewed up,no matter how squirrel proof it's supposed to be !!!!

Thanks for all you comments.

As far as squirrels I haven't seen anyyet. We live in a fairly new development, 3 years old with ~ 20 houses. So not too many trees around. That could be why.
