The local paper says the airshow was a success, 35,000 in attendance, best of all it was free .Here are some more.

Tupelov Display Team

This is my favourite shot, wish I was a little closer.I missed a few shots of the Tupelov`s cos I was stood there catching flies with my mouth wide open, they were unreal!!!

Mustangs & The Sally B , flying fortress (Memphis Belle)

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"can still hear those Mustangs howlin .

Thanks ,I only auto levelled in CS2,I like the vignetting caused by the TCON.

All the airshow pics needed quite a bit of sharpening, most are fullsize crops because the planes were some distance away.

The first one - not only flying in formation - each plane's propellor was in the same position at your snap (or maybe it's an optical illusion?).

And the Mustangs - excellent shots.

Take any video to get the sound?

Awesome shots, TD I like them all, but I think I like the 3rd one best. Something about that majestic bomber being escorted by the Mustangs just looks cool.

No video DGhemen, I didn`t think of that :-).

Incidently I just found out from the local paper that one of Sir Frank Whittall`s Jet engine development team was born around the corner from my parents house.

forgot about this one, can`t have me forgetting about a spitfire!!!

Nice shots.
That's more like it, British Metal.

A friend of a friend stuck a Spitfire engine in a car for a laugh... 200+mph and a rather economical 1 to the gallon when using the throttle (mind you, it did tick over at 90mph).

Nice shots TD. I like the last two. I don't think prettier or better sounding airplanes than those two were ever made. But then there is the P-38 and the Corsair and the Hurricane and the Typhoon!!!!
