Great comparison Brian. I have a B&W cp on my 6490 all the time. I forget it's there.

Thanks for this lesson,Brian! I needed to know this too. Can the CP from different brands and with different prices vary in quality greatly? I,m going to buy a 37mm one for my DX7440, but don't remember what brand was it I found.

From my experience the B&W brand is one of the best. Tiffens will do. Just look for a good name brand and find the best price on that brand. I keep a Tiffen on the camera almost all the time and then use a Cokin when I'm useing the Cokin filters! I bought the Tiffen used from B&H Photovideo for about 16 dollars U.S. It looked and has performed like new.

Yes,,,different brands offer different quality,,,,,and yeild different results,,,somewhat....do not buy a cheap 2 cent filter,,,B+W IS THE BEST,,,ALSO THE MOST PRICEY..Tiffen is decent and the best bang for buck quality wise...

I saw that Kodak has a 55mm circular polarizer, is this not a good filter?:?

The one I saw there for the 7590, is a B+W and should be a good one. I don't own one myself so I have to say should be a good one. The name brand is there and I can be sure kodak has tried it to be sure it will deliver on the quality!!
