I know this doesn't look like much but it is the shuttle that just went off. I am 50 miles south of the cape.

When I was a kid, back in the 60's. My Granddad ran a fishing camp on Sebastion Island, and we'd watch the rockets warm up and then launch from Cape Canaveral.
I think I spelled that right!! Anyway they were always an exciting sight. Thanks for sharing that. It brought back memories.

Back in the 50's and 60's that was our winter holiday home, on the island. My Grand dad seperated from my grandmother Skinner and moved to the island on a place given to his sister Julia Lake Kellersberger. He built about 6 houses and started a fishing camp there called Happy Landings. He was one of the first full time residents there. Most people of any age around Melbourne remember Pop Skinner!! I'll dig some photo's up and show you what it looked like then. Ketch you later!!
