Just wondering, if there could be some External Mic for the Kodak V550 to reduce the Zoom Motor Noise, during Video Capture?

I know the V550 is too new to have any new add-on devices. But is its I/O port an Open Standard i.e. allowing 3rd-parties to develop the hardware for it?

In general is it popular for DC to have add-on devices (not only for Kodak)?

Note: there is ONLY ONE i/o port on the base for the V550, so it's the logical place for any external devices.
