Well,,we just came back,,again,,,from another 600+ mile trip arround our Province,,i need a nap,,,we left here at 4:00 AM Thursday morning....we leave early to beat traffic,,and be where we want to be early.....i love doing that,,,,but the knowing i`m getting up at 4:00 makes it so i get no sleep that night...

Anyway,,the reason for this post,,,we had 2 cameras,,,the 6490 and the 7590,,,both were used heavily the first day,,,we forgot to dock them that night (not real bright),,and today took about 10 shots each to have both die from dead batteries...since i`m too cheap to buy spares,,,we were out of luck....so,,,,i decided to drive 50 miles back to St. Stephen to Canadian Tire...and bought this.....(see below).....a power inverter....

Now i know what you`re going to say,,,buy another battery right,,,,,wrong,,,this way i can charge the sucker as i drive or park and the camera will always have a fresh battery....

This works EXTREMELY WELL...it`s digital too telling you the output voltage,,,input volts and wattage used...

Thats a good idea Brian..I've had an old one for many years, used to use it camping and for small power tools out in the field. Now that I see a newer digital model I might have to spring for a new one. Have you had occassion to use the battery booster and if so how do you like it?

Booster works great,,,,got it for free,,used it a few times to boost my car last winter,,also use this to power my Koolatron 12V cooler,,,the booster has a light which is nice in power outages,,also an aircompressor for tires in the rear...the main nice feature though is this one has an off/on switch,,,so the cable clamps are not always live,,most packs have both the booster cables live all the time,,and they are all not insulated all the way...could cause a problem i think....

Thanks Brian. I've been considering one of those lately and now I will know what to look for.
