Hi all just thought I would post some pics from a day trip my wife and I took into the mountains in Orifino Idaho:-)

This one here is Dworshak Dam..717 feet high and is the largest in the state..An armed guard was curious about me and approached me and I thought...OH NO here we go but he obviously figured I was not a threat and I was within the acceptable range for my photos and he educated me about this dam being a terrorist target around the 9/11 date and was discovered later in documents that are now public. He did inform me that if this dam had been a victim of any attack or natural disaster it would take out every dam between this location and the pacific.

Thanks for looking:-)

Really nice shots. Wagaboo. I know how you felt when the guard approached. That shot of the dam gives you that feeling of it leaning out over you. When I look at it I feel like it's about to fall on me!!!

Nice set of pics, Wag. I really like the bridge shot. That close up of the deer is nice also. Looking at the shot of the dam makes a person feel insignificant.

Thanks all, the bridge is probably about 3 or 400 yards or 125 meters long and made by the Army as well as that dam.

You know, they shouldn't be telling everyone that *if* that dam is blown up... it'll take out all the dams... because that makes it even more likely someone will do it... *sigh* what's the world coming to?

Actually you're right, but just seeing the dam in person it doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure that one out :-) because behind that dam...theres alot of lake and on some dam tours they will tell you how much area would flood if it were to recieve catastrophic damage of any sort.
