I sat on my back step this morning and took some shots of the sparrows as they used the feeder. I decided to put my TCON-17 on and put the camera in macro mode to see what would happen. I also use a uni-pod to steady the shot. All in auto, with cropping.
This 1st pic is not in macro mode.

For this one I switched on burst mode, actually most are from burst mode.

Nice work, Steve. I think I like the 3rd and 4th shots best. I think Brianhare was the one who clued me into using the TCon-17 in macro mode. It really adds to the versatility of the camera.

Thanks for the comments Tom. I'm not sure where I got the idea to try the tcon while in macro mode. I think it was because of your discussion on the Hoya filters.
