Hmmmm, perhaps there is something I'm not getting.

I have spent a lot of time and effort (still working at it) to get clear crisp pictures.
To me, the "blur" effect just like an out of focus shot that I would discard.

I have used slow shutter to get the effect of flowing water, or an object in motion with a sharp background.

I guess there is more to this hobby than I imagined.

For my own work I'm in your camp although at one point I played with a Pentax 110 SLR using 400 color negative film and 8x10 prints. Photos have to be composed/subjects selected so that details aren't important, only the large shapes/color masses and the texture of the media itself are important to the "meaning" of the photo. In the history of fine art photography styles change. The f/64 school (Weston) was a rejection of the previous Photo Impressionism (Steichen) style. In perspective significant works were produced in both schools.
