The New Hampshire Lake District has been a summer retreat for Bostonians and New Yorkers since the 1780s. It's now a land of great natural beauty modified by power boats, expensive resorts and motels, and 2-mile backups on exits off I-93.

It was rainy (Coe House, Center Harbor, NH).

The city of Center Harbor (population 957) has a town boat house... must have been built 1890 or so.

The door is interesting.... it must have faced the weather unpainted for many years before someone slathered gray porch floor paint on it...

Lake Winnipesaukee ("smile of the great spirit"), northern cove at The Loon Conservancy.

Yes, that's right, there's a group attempting to prevent power boaters from creating loonburgers on the lakes.

Bosky dell on a nature trail (steadied by my new string tripod).

Photo had a magenta cast to it, somewhat removedby post-processing.

I liked them all Dave, especially the last two. Was the second one a brick garage?
