Hi,

I received my black v550 yesterday and i noticed that the favorite system don't work.

I go to the photo review and set one or more pictures as favorite...

Then i press the favorite button on the side to access favorite pictures but i can only see the 3 demo pictures. I deleted them andseted other pictures as favorite.

When i bush favorite button, it says that i have no favorite pictures.

Am i doing something wrong??

Help!!!!

Thanks,

Bruno

According to Users Guide, page 41, you have to transfer to computer first (thru EasyShare software).

And then when transfering those images "tagged" as "favorite", they will be scaled down (to just fit the 2.5" screen) and stored back into the "favorite" section of the internal memory of v550.

I know it's tedious, so I just use an usb SD card reader. I seldom use the ES to process still images, except for video editing which is just fantastic.

Hi,

I did what you said a few hours ago and it works but i think its a bit stupid.

When we set a picture as favorite in review, it will be automatically in favourite.

However,i like the idea that favorite pictures are copied in a smaller size. You can store more than 200 pictures on your 32MB internal memory.

Thanks,

Bruno

I'd rather reserve the precious 32mb int mem for emergency use e.g. when my SD is full.

I think the problems with your "oldy" 128mb, besides size, is the speed.

My 3-yr old Sandisk 256MB will refuse to work after about 15sec of movie capture.

Then I got an UltraII 60x 1GB w/o any problem taking movies.

And the slowest I've tried is Kingston Elitepro 50x but still no problems.

So Transcend 80x is good, but may be too good (expensive), unless you are thinking of using it on D-SLR or prosumer grade DC's.

FYI 1GB takes up about 30min of 640x480 movies.

I am wondering if anybody has tried 2GB on v550 ????

Hi,

I can buy a transcend 80x SD card for 87 euros.

The 2 GB price is much more high so i just gonna purchase 1 GB for now.

Do you have Kingston Elitepro 1GB in Europe? Kingston is the most reasonably priced SD but still fast enough for v550. In HK Kingston is about 2/3 of the price of Trascend,

Sorry there is no larger capacity battery. I just bought a spare original battery (720mAh) for HK$120 or US$15 (cheaper than their list price on Kodak website), because I reg'd the prod so early right after purchase in June, they treated me as VIP ))

Battery saving tips:

1. Don't reveiw to often, especially movies
2. Movie energy in 1 sec is equiv to about 1 x 5MP pciture.
3. You may turn off the LCD by pressing UP cursor twice.
4. If your subjects are steady and don't move a lot, you may choose "single focusing" instead of "continueous focusing".

Hi,

I found a compatible battery at pixmania:

http://www.pixmania.com/pt/pt/s_acti...rch/index.html

The compatible battery is more expensive than the original. Maiby its a bigger capacity battery.

Anyone can confirm this??
