Hi; I just bought a 6490 off ebay (used) I'am not sure if I 'am getting the software (driver). Looking at kodak download site, it looks like that is 28 MB. my computer and phone systems, This sounds like a 24hrs download. Is there any of you kodak people that just might part with a copy of that software ? In this little backwoods town we have a pirvate phone company. There's noway I can keep a internet connection this long. This is a great site and helped me decide on this 6490. I hope it's better than a epson pc750z. The epson is not all that bad

In that case you can live without software. Just use Win Xp to transfer pics. I think you'll like DX6490.

The easysharer soft ware is a memory hog too. It will slow down start ups and isn't as good as some free ware and other types of photo manipulation software such as Photo Shop Elements or Paintshop Pro. Do as Atindra said and you'll be happy with the camera. I own a 6490 and am very pleased with the results it delivers. Think about an adapter tube and UV haze filter in the near future as lens protection!

Welcome to the forum. I'm sure you're going to have fun with the 6490. Many of us tried and then got rid of the Easyshare software..I don't think you would miss it.
