Back in my PDP days (Pre Digital Photography) I had a filter made by Tiffen called a Color Enhancer, this was made from a special glass called Bididium (spelling could be wrong) It would enhance many but not all colors of the spectrum. This kind of glass/filter was made for welders helmets to protect their eyes from a specific range of the light spectrum. I used to use it in combination with a polarizer on my nikon for some super eye popping images. Girl friend and I once went to a Cranberry Bog in NJ durring harvest and the sky, floating berries and green trees looked like they were electrified. I had a nikon polarizer which is oversized so there was no vignett problems when 2 filters were used on a 24mm lens.

It's the Cokin REDHANCER. Unlike a polarizer this works in all directions, does not have to be rotated for proper orientation. Combined with a polarizer the colors will knock your sox off!
