Here is a quick question. Does the lens adaptor for the 850 have the same issues as the one that was on the 6490? Those had something to do with sensors indoors, blocking them somewhat so that your pictures were darker.

Terry, another member here, or maybe another forum, had an idea that the adapter wasn't blocking the sensor so much as it was reflecting the flash back onto it. I think he may be right. Try this- with the adapter on, in a low lit room take a flash pic, take a no flash pic, and finally take a no flash pic while holding your finger over the sensor. Compare them and see what you think

Dan,

When I first used my 6490, I noticed the difference the adaptor made. I tested it and posted this on this topic:

As you can see, my helpful wife is trying to show the picture number <grin>

Ok.............I just went in the kitchen and took four shots of the stuff on the counter. The lens adapter does not seem to cause any flash problems.

I'll have to shoot some more.........I deleted them after I downloaded and looked them over. When I do I'll post them in Pauls site along with the shots already posted.
