Can anyone tell me the secret of taking moonshots?? :?

I've seen some awesome pics and decided to try taking a few myself.
Unfortunately I was veeeeerrrrryyyy disappointed :O :angry:



Are you guys using high tech equipment or what???? :?

I'm afraid I can't help you that much bedde. My first attempt (http://www.stevesforums.com/forums/v...mp;forum_id=18) wasn't that good either. I got some advice on how to improve it, but haven't had time yet to try it.

Some peopleuse telephoto lens. The best moonshot I've seen so far was with a telescope (http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/re...ssage=13887109).

I'll check out the links and then try shooting moon pics again.

Hopefully the other members can provide more tips...

Wonder what thread I just replied to, it did not show up in this one :-)
Try again:

If you can see it the moon is always in full sunlight, so the sunny16 rule applies.
Manually set your apature to F16 or F11, and your shutter speed to 1/ISO.
Bracket a bit to account for local atmospheric conditions
