Does anyone know how to hack a camera to get less compression !!!!

I have a KOdAK DX6490 . . . .

If its not fixed by hardware, then the first step would be to find out how to download the firmware from the camera onto your pc, or find a copy of the existing firmware on the net somewhere.

After that, it wont be easy, but at least you will have the firmware to look at!

Just thought I would ad that playing with firmware and then applying it can damage the camera very easily. I have played around with firmware for a long time now and if you value your cam, don't try it ....even firmware put in the wrong way can render hardware useless......Just my opinion Boily:-)

Boily, this site might offer some information: http://www.camerahacker.com/Hacks.html. They have a Kodak forum. Although I agree with wagaboo, you've really got to weigh the risk and decide if it's worth it.
