Does any one know if this can be used with the DX6490 and/or DX7590??
Does it make any sense to use a lense hood if possible because of the lens extracting out??

you would also need the tube adapter. Kodak oem is 55mm, I see most top name filters and lens in 55mm. Not sure what's going with the 52 mm stuff. when I got my 6490 I tryed a hood I had that fit the housing. The big end is 50mm. It left a black ring on all pic's. So I've replaced everything with 55 mm, since Kodak's adapter is 55 mm. I can for sure tell you stay away from plastic. The threads will not last long

Many of the lens adapters on ebay are 52mm for some reason, not sure, but maybe, just maybe, those 3 extra missing mm are just enough so the tube does not interfere with the flash sensor, or interferes less. Just a thought, not tried a 52mm one so no idea really.
