Just got an Olympus TCON17 telephoto lens for my Kodak 850 and I can't get the camera to focus, either in manual or auto.

Is anyone using this lens/camera combination successfully, and if so, any advice?

Thanks in advance

I just purchased the TCON 1.7x and used it for the first time yesterday. I had no issues focusing with auto or manual. The lens worked great. I couldn't be more happier with the purchase.

Thanks for the reply.

I have the "Olympus TCON-17 Tele Conversion Lens", Olympus part no. 200862. Is that the one you have? I know there are several different versions, but I bought the one with the 55mm screw on fitting.

What settings have you shot with? Auto, Program, Scene, Apperature, etc..... I must have some setting on the camera incorrect, but there's so much to play with,I haven't got the first notion where to start.

I have the exact lens you have. As for the settings, I was basically trying out the lens with all different settings. The only constant was that in the main menu of the camera, the feature Accessory lens was turned on. I was just looking at a picture I took of a vulture in flight and I noticed what appears to be rings in the picture. I only notice the rings in pictures of where I was aiming in the sky snapping pics of the bird. Anyone else ever have that issue. I will post the pic, hopefully soon.

Thanks for responding.

Can't figure out for the life of me what I'm doing wrong. I've got "Acessory lens" turned "on", although I'm not getting the icon in the viewfinder like the manual shows.
