After "hearing" that the P850 doesn't do too well in the macro area, I decided to try a couple test shots of some coins. I used the P850's macro mode, and had the camera on a tripod as these were shot at night indoors with available light. I shot these about 4" away from the subject, and only cropped the images, no post-processing was done. I thought these turned out quite well. :blah:

Look good to me!! Did you change the white balance to tungsten??

Yes, Tungsten WB as the coins were right under a lamp. :idea:

Did you bracket it useing Auto balance?

Nope, no bracketing. Although I probably should have set a custom WB.

Well I can say those are very--very good closeups. I don't believe a lot of what's posted so soon on a new camera. There are too many that expect to be Ansel Addams right out of the Box! You on the otherhand along with a few others are doing your best to learn all the complexities and newances of this camera. I applaud you!
