What did you not like about the Z740?

I am still in the middle of the rechargable AA and proprietary batteries. One reviewer is definitely pro Quick Charge AA over Propriety batteries because of quickness to recharge and cost.

A piece of info: Beach Camera sells the DX7590 and the Z7590.. I couldn't find the Z7590 in Steves reviews. Apparently the only difference is the Z7590 has the new dock connector and support for the IMAGELINK system.
No Image Stabilization, is what lacks in thez740.

This is essential for any high zoom camera!

Three cams -> Z740, DX7590/Z7590, P850

only ONE has Image stabilization

I have a last question before buying the P850 definitely.

Is there any problem by the missing AF-assist-lamp when you shoot low light pictures?

I 'ld be happy to get some answers from you.

Regards peter
Well Peter, any decisions yet?

@techgeek,

after a long time of considering a lot of infos I finally decided for .. the Sony H1.

There were two reasons against the P850: the lack of assist-lamp and the bad service of Kodak in Germany.

It was a very difficult decision and I was sleepless a lot of nights.

Thank you so much for all your help

Regards peter

Peter I hope you enjoy the new camera and will at least post one thread of shots with it. I'm partial to Kodak but enjoy photos no matter what camera took them. It's the spirit all photographers should have! Enjoy and many happy regards from

@bigdawg,

I thank you so much for your wishes.

I think, I have to learn a lot of things to get such good photos like you do.

Best wishes for you, too, and a lot of fun with our great hobby.

Regards peter

@techgeek,

there is no perfect camera!!

Each one has its advantages and its weaknesses.

Have been watching this thread and have been on the fence. I started out wanting
a Kodak z140... Then changed to Kodak P850... Then put the Canon S1 1S on my list and then the Sony H1. There's no Perfect camera. Looking at the reviews here and at Digital Camera Resource page I was swayed to get the Sony H1. They said I could return it up to 45 days...
