Hello

Been considering the p850.

Amazon has it for $399.94 and I have $100.00 gift certificate for Amazon.

Read the review and they are not too wild about the lcd.

Do you think it is worth buying?

How does the lcd, evf and picture quality compare to the dx7440? or is the dc7590 a better deal?

Bill

It's interestinghow mixed the reviews can be on it. Someindicate"dissapointment" onsmall things that are not of great consideration to most people.

Remember, no cam can do everything. So when buying, just narrow downthe things that are most important to you. It appears you have decided onKodak anyway.

I wouldnt place too much emphasis on theLCD comments. The unithas a 2.5 inch screen at 115,00k pixels. which isnt over the top, but it does the job, and quite well actually. Keep in mind, that you can always output to a TV too.

Compared to the DX7440, they are each suitable for different things. The 7440 is small and has less zoom, andI use it for quick shots on-the-go. With the P850 being larger I tend to take it out for specialized shootings.

As for a 850 & 7590 comparison there arethreads here about it.
In a nut shell here's the basic difference.

- The P850 has Image Stabilization (reduces camera shake, blur) and a hot shoe (attachment for flash), as well as several other features that the 7590 does not.
- P850has high quality movie mode with zoom, manual focus, live histogram, and more scene modes than the 7590.

They are both great cams. The P850 is Kodak's "upgrade" to the 7590.

ohI found the thread, here it is:
